18 things to have In Case of Emergency (I.C.E.) - Earthquake or Disaster

Luck and Preparation

The only constant thing in the world is changeChange can happen in ways in a situation, mood, an event, the weather, atmosphere, temperament, medical condition, stock market crash, theft, life event, epidemic, job loss, or land grabbing. You name it and a change can happen in a second!

Everything and everyone changes. Some less, others more. Now that we read how change is such a constantly happening phenomenon, why not we are also ready for it. The effect of the change will, however, depend on things like your luck and preparedness.

Luck usually is the first and most critical factor, applicable and accepted universally.
You could survive a nuclear bomb attack, but act stupid enough to be caught for no fault of yours. That’s Luck. So, if you are lucky enough to survive the initial impact, believe me, being less or not prepared, can cost you much more. This statement stands true for any of the reasons, mentioned above and otherwise.

Having said about luck, let’s look at Preparedness and how it can help/wreck your initial impact where Lady Luck has already smiled upon you!

The Threat

EmergencyCriticality, and Urgency can pop out like a toast, and you won’t be able to program, schedule or snooze these. The I.C.E. formula applies to these situations.

Being prepared or not can mean a world of things and different ones as situations are numerous too. No one can limit these, so I tried to list and elaborate on a few important ones. As follows:

Delhi, the majestic and historical capital city of the beautiful country of India, is known for its diversity, buildings, food, and cultural heritage. Besides it is now also known as a place where an Earthquake of a higher magnitude is likely to occur. Being referred to as the Delhi earthquake! There have been a few tremors felt in the last. The most frightening thing is that these tremors are closing in and the magnitude rising. We have been reading and hearing about the earthquake in Delhi and the Delhi earthquake today.

The Planning

We tend to become complacent and ignore certain threats saying – what is to be, shall be!
Let’s change that once and for all. Let’s start to discuss, plan and ensure chances of better survival.

Discuss

A plan of action to follow In Case of Emergency, so that everyone knows what to do.

Plan

The various possibilities, brainstorm on What If and How To situations In Case of Emergency.

Ensure

That you are prepared and alert at all times; that your I.C.E. bag is ready, secured, and reachable.

The Preparation

Well, Earthquake or a Disaster, Emergency or Eventuality, Are we prepared? If yes, how prepared are we to present ourselves to the occasion? What you are about to read, may well be the difference between saving and wasting crucial time, it may just be a lifesaver.
Then let’s say an earthquake occurs, the first thing, no matter in what condition you are, you call out all others and rush outside your house. Right? At such a time, we don’t even have the time to think or collect our wallet, money, keys, or even our beloved mobile phones! We just run outside in pajamas or the boxers that we are wearing.
Prepare an I.C.E. Bag. Also known as an Emergency bag/kit or Grab Bag, something that you can just Grab and Go.

What all to keep in the Emergency Kit/Bag I.C.E. Bag

To start with, your I.C.E. Bag, can have the following items:
